Connect Perplexity to Stax.
Perplexity Enterprise chat seats (Pro, Max) live in the admin console only — no programmatic billing API. API spend has "API Groups" for project separation but no public usage endpoint either. Stax tracks Perplexity through a monthly invoice upload.
Pull your monthly billing data.
Perplexity has two billing surfaces depending on what you use:
A. Chat seats (Enterprise Pro / Max)
Sign in to the Perplexity admin console:
perplexity.ai/enterprise/admin- Open the Billing section.
- Download the most recent invoice PDF.
- Note the plan tier — Enterprise Pro at $40/seat/mo or Enterprise Max at $325/seat/mo (2026 rates).
B. Perplexity API spend
Sign in to the Perplexity API dashboard:
perplexity.ai/settings/api- Open API Groups (if you've set them up) to see usage broken out by named group.
- Take a screenshot of the current period's totals, or download the invoice when it issues at month end.
- The dashboard shows credits remaining; one credit equals one US dollar of API spend.
Upload to Stax.
When the upload flow ships, drag the PDF or screenshot into /app → Providers → Perplexity → Upload invoice. Stax will identify the line items and add them to your dashboard.
Until then, the manual route is:
- Email what you have to [email protected] with subject Perplexity import.
- Tell us your tier and whether you want API spend tracked alongside seats.
- Get a confirmation reply within one business day.
What you'll see after the import.
- Monthly chat-seat cost in USD (seats × plan price).
- API spend in USD, broken out by API Group if you've configured them.
- A note that Comet (Perplexity's browser product) usage is bundled into Enterprise seat pricing — no separate line item, by design on Perplexity's side.
- Month-over-month comparison once you've uploaded at least two months.
Per-user attribution within an API Group is not available — group-level is the finest granularity Perplexity exposes.
About proxying API traffic
It's technically possible to track Perplexity API usage in real time by proxying your application's requests through Stax — Perplexity returns usage info in response headers. We've chosen not to ship this in v1 because routing your production AI traffic through a third party adds latency and a new failure mode. Monthly upload is the right tradeoff until Perplexity ships a proper admin API.
