Connect Google AI to Stax.

Monthly upload

Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com) does not currently expose a usage or cost API. Stax tracks Gemini spend through a monthly Cloud Billing CSV until Google ships a programmatic endpoint, or until you wire up a BigQuery billing export.

Upload flow not yet built. The dashboard's CSV-upload form is on the v0.2 roadmap (target: week 4-6 post-launch). If you need Google AI tracking before then, email [email protected] with your billing export attached and we'll import it manually within one business day.
Step 1

Download your Cloud Billing export.

If your Gemini API spend goes through a Google Cloud project (the standard setup), you can pull a monthly cost report from the Cloud Console:

console.cloud.google.com/billing
  1. Pick the billing account that owns your Generative Language API spend.
  2. Open Reports in the left sidebar.
  3. Filter by service: Generative Language API (and add Vertex AI if you use that too).
  4. Set the date range to the previous month.
  5. Click Download CSV at the top right.

AI Studio only? If you're paying for Gemini API spend through an AI Studio billing account rather than a Cloud project, your only data path is the invoice PDF emailed by Google each month — attach that to your email to [email protected] and we'll handle import.

Step 2

Upload the CSV to Stax.

When the upload flow ships, you'll be able to drag the CSV into /appProvidersGoogle AIUpload invoice. Stax will parse the SKU descriptions, attribute spend to Gemini models, and add the rows to your dashboard.

Until that flow is live, the manual route is:

  1. Email the CSV (or invoice PDF) to [email protected] with subject Google AI import.
  2. Get a confirmation reply within one business day.
  3. Refresh your dashboard once the rows are imported.
Step 3

What you'll see after the import.

Per-user attribution is not available at the billing layer — Cloud Billing rows attribute to projects, not users. If you need per-developer breakdowns, you'd need IAM tagging on the consuming application, which is outside Stax's scope.

Want live sync instead?

The longer-term solution is a BigQuery billing export — Google Cloud streams your invoice line items into a BigQuery dataset, Stax queries it on a service account you grant roles/bigquery.dataViewer on. Cost data appears within 24 hours of usage, no monthly upload needed.

This integration is on the v2 roadmap and we'll prioritize it for any customer who asks. Reply to your waitlist confirmation email or write to [email protected].

Common errors

No matching SKUs
The CSV doesn't contain Generative Language or Vertex AI rows. Either your filter didn't apply, or your Gemini spend is on a different billing account. Re-export without the service filter and Stax will pick out the AI lines.
Currency mismatch
Billing account is non-USD. Stax converts to USD using the rate on the invoice date. If you need a different conversion (e.g. your fiscal year rate), tell us in the upload email and we'll set it on your workspace.
