Connect Cursor to Stax.
Stax pulls per-seat daily usage and spend from Cursor's team admin API. You see who's actually using their seat, who isn't, and where the month's spend is concentrating.
Generate the admin API key.
Sign in to Cursor as a team admin and open the team API keys page:
cursor.com/settings/teams/api- Click Create API key.
- Name it Stax or similar.
- Copy the key.
Paste the key into Stax.
In Stax, go to /app → Providers → Cursor → Connect. Paste the key into the field labeled API key and save.
Stax validates against /teams/members before saving so we can confirm the key actually has team-scope. Then it's encrypted at rest.
What you'll see after the first sync.
The initial backfill pulls the current calendar month of per-member daily usage. After that, Stax syncs nightly. You'll see:
- Spend in USD per seat per day from /teams/spend and /teams/daily-usage-data.
- Idle-seat detection. Members with zero AI assists in the last 14 days surface as candidates for reallocation or downgrade.
- Acceptance rate per member — useful signal for whether a developer is getting value from Cursor specifically (versus paying for it but ignoring suggestions).
- Plan information (Cursor Business at $40/seat/mo or your custom enterprise rate).
Cursor abstracts away tokens — its plans bill on "AI requests" and "fast model calls." Stax shows those raw counts plus the dollar conversion. Per-project attribution is not available because Cursor doesn't tag spend by repo.
